2 Detroit Teens Charged In Robbery, Killing Of 16-Year-Old: Police

Prosecutors said the two teens robbed the 16-year-old boy before fatally shooting him in Detroit last month.

DETROIT — Two Detroit teens are facing adult charges in connection with the robbery and fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy last month, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

Officers found the 16-year-old boy shot to death with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest at 3:53 p.m. on May 22 in the area of Bedford Road and the East Edsel Ford Service Drive in Detroit, according to prosecutors.

Barry Love, 15, and Anthony Carter, 16, were each charged with felony murder, armed robbery, and two counts of felony firearm in connection with the robbery and shooting.

They were both placed in jail. Love was given a $1 million cash bond and Carter was given a $200,000 cash bond. Their next court date is scheduled for June 27.

They both face up to life in prison, if convicted on the felony murder charge.

Prosecutors said Love and Carter robbed the 16-year-old boy while he was walking around King Richard Street and Bedford Street. They then fired multiple shots from handguns, fatally wounding the 16-year-old boy, according to prosecutors.

Officers arrested Love and Carter in connection with the fatal shooting on June 6, according to prosecutors.
