2 Hurt After Disgruntled Employee Sets Car On Fire In Detroit: Police

Police said the former employee returned to work Monday morning and set a car on fire that injured two women outside the Detroit business.

DETROIT — A man was arrested in connection with a Monday car fire that injured two women in Detroit, according to police.

The two women, ages in their 50s and 60s, suffered burns and were taken to a nearby hospital where they were listed in serious condition, according to police.

The incident happened at 6 a.m. Monday morning outside a Detroit business on the 1000 block of Grand Boulevard near Gratiot Avenue, according to police.

Police said the man arrived at the business, where he had been suspended or terminated, and found the two women, who work at the business, sitting inside a car.

He then poured accelerant around the car and set it on fire, according to police.

The man then ran away from the scene but was quickly captured by a nearby witness, who held him until officers arrived, according to police.

Officers then arrested the suspected arsonist and he is expected to face charges in connection with the incident, according to police.
