The snow will move into the area as early as 5 p.m. and continue into the overnight hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters expect between 1 and 2 inches of fresh snow across the metro area with the highest amounts farther north.

Highs will be in the 30s Tuesday and Wednesday with additional light lake effect snow showers possible in the morning hours, the weather service said.
Thursday will be dry with temperatures in the 30s before highs climb into the 40s with sunshine on Friday and Saturday, the weather service said.
