Wind chills Thursday morning will fall to as low as 10 degrees below zero and down to -20 degrees on Friday morning across the metro Detroit region, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime highs will only reach the teens with consistent wind chills falling below zero, the weather service said.

Forecasters warned the cold air can cause frostbite and hypothermia on exposed skin within 30 minutes.

No snow is expected through the rest of the week and through the weekend.
