Forecasters warned the cold winds will cause frostbite and hypothermia on exposed skin within 30 minutes.
A major winter storm moving across the south could track slightly farther to the north and bring widespread snowfall to southeastern Michigan on Sunday, the weather service said.

Several inches of snow will be possible with the highest accumulations across the metro Detroit region and areas farther south, the weather service said.
