3 Metro Detroit Hospitals Limit Pediatric Visitors As Viruses Spread
Three Beaumont hospitals in the metro Detroit area are restricting visitors to pediatric units due to a rise in respiratory illnesses.
METRO DETROIT — Three Beaumont hospitals in the metro Detroit area are restricting visitors to pediatric units due to a rise in respiratory illnesses, according to a news release.
Starting Wednesday, Dec. 13, only two visitors will be allowed at the bedside during the day and one visitor overnight at Corewell Health's Beaumont Hospitals in Dearborn, Royal Oak and Troy, officials said.
The restrictions are only in place for pediatric and emergency patients who are 21 years old or younger, officials said.

Officials said the restrictions come as a "high number" of children are coming into the hospitals with respiratory viruses, which officials believe are spreading throughout the community.

- Wash your hands frequently
- Get vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19. In addition, new RSV preventives have been approved. Talk to your pediatrician, obstetrician, or primary care physician for more information. Monoclonal antibody for infants and children.
