4 Charged In Wayne Co. Sheriff Shooting Death: Prosecutor
Police said Wayne County Sheriff Deputy Devante Jones was shot to death in Detroit on Sep. 20.
DETROIT — Four men from Detroit were charged in connection to the shooting death of Wayne County Sheriff Deputy Devante Jones, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Thursday.
Malikk Cameron Williams, 22, Gregory Freeman, 19, Christion Bernard White, 22 and Kevin Bernard White, 27 were each charged with one count of First-Degree Murder and one count of Felony Firearm, the prosecutor's office said.
Officers said multiple shots were fired on Sep. 20 at 4:12 a.m. in the parking lot of the Diggs projects on the 1040 block of East Forest Avenue in Detroit, in which several struck Jones, 23, the prosecutor's office said.

Jones was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, the prosecutor's office said.
Williams, Freeman, and Kevin White were arrested and placed in jail on Dec. 21, and will have probable cause conferences on Jan. 13. Christopher White was arrested on Dec. 29 and placed in jail , and will also have a probable cause conference on Jan. 13 in 36th District Court before Judge Kenneth King, the prosecutor's office said.
