4+ Inches Of Rain Possible As Remnants Of Beryl Hit MI

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Some parts of southeastern Michigan can see more than 4 inches of rain by Wednesday night as remnants from Hurricane Beryl hit the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood advisory was issued for the metro Detroit area until 10 a.m. Wednesday and a flood watch is in effect for all areas north of Interstate 94 in southeastern Michigan until 8 p.m. Wednesday night.

Forecasters warned the remnants of Beryl will bring widespread rain, which will be heavy at times, to southeastern Michigan throughout Wednesday before ending early Thursday morning.

As of Wednesday morning, areas south of Interstate 69 have already seen a one and a half inch of rain with the potential to see more than 4 inches by Wednesday night, according to the weather service.

Most areas in southeastern Michigan will see between 1 and 3 inches of rain by Wednesday night, according to the weather service.

High temperatures will only reach the mid 70s Wednesday across southeastern Michigan before temperatures rebound back into the 80s Thursday, according to the weather service.

The heat and humidity return to southeast Michigan this weekend when high temperatures flirt with the 90s, according to the weather service.
