5 Arrested After Stealing $13K In Clothes From Detroit Lululemon: Cops

Troopers believe the women are part of a theft ring that has stolen more than $125,000 from the athletic clothing retailer, police said.

DETROIT — Five women were arrested Monday after stealing roughly $13,000 in clothing from a downtown Detroit Lululemon store, according to Michigan State Police.

Officials began watching the Lululemon store in downtown Detroit after multiple thefts were reported from other stores across metro Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers and agents with the Michigan Attorney General's Office were watching the popular athletic attire store on Woodward Avenue Monday when they saw the suspected women walk into the store, according to Michigan State Police.

Moments later, officers saw the women walk out of the store with large bags of clothing, which was later determined to be worth about $13,000, according to Michigan State Police.

Officials did not identify the women arrested in connection with the theft.

"This investigation is on going. While many may think retail fraud as a “lower level” crime, these large scale retail thefts put both the public and store employees in danger as well increasing the price at the register for consumers," Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Shaw said.
