268K Without Power After Severe Storms Hit Detroit Area
DTE Energy says their storm response teams are working to restore power to impacted customers "as quickly and safely as possible."
More than 268,000 DTE Energy customers in metro Detroit were without power Thursday after multiple waves of severe storms hit the area.
The first round of storms hit the area late Wednesday night, leaving more than 100,000 people in the region without power.
More storms hit the Detroit area Thursday afternoon with tornado-like winds in some areas, causing more widespread outages across the area.

DTE officials warned people to stay at least 25 feet from any downed power lines. They said you should always assume any downed power line is live and dangerous.
