Air Conditioner Checks Free At Goodyear If Metro Detroit Temps Hit 90
When the mercury officially hits 90 degrees at the Detroit Metro Airport, air conditioner checks are free at Goodyear Auto Service stores.

DETROIT, MI — Thursday’s forecast high in Detroit is 89 degrees — one degree shy of the threshold a group of nine Metro Detroit auto shops have set for free automobile air conditioning checks now through July 31. The “90 Degrees of Cool” promotion will be offered at participating Goodyear Auto Service locations.
When the temperature officially hits 90 at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, the first 100 guests who visit a participating franchise will receive the free air conditioning checks, worth an estimated $50, according to a press release. Air conditioning checks at Goodyear Auto Service locations include:
- System test for cracks, leaks and damage
- Air conditioning belt inspection
- Assessment of electronic controls
- Refrigerant for testing. Includes up to two pounds of refrigerant for air conditioning system checks
Above-average temperatures in Detroit and much of the country are expected to be above normal through August, according to Weather.com.
