A significant warming trend moves into the metro Detroit area Thursday that will eventually see highs hit the 80s by the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
There will be plenty of sunshine on Thursday and Friday with highs climbing toward 70 degrees, the weather service said.
Highs will reach the 80s on Saturday, but there will be chances for showers and thunderstorms, the weather service said.
The showers and thunderstorms will linger into Sunday morning before highs again reach the 80s in the afternoon hours, the weather service said.
Warmer temperatures are expected early next week with highs hitting 90 degrees on Monday and Tuesday across the Detroit area, the weather service said.
