More severe thunderstorms are likely across metro Detroit on Tuesday amid another hot and humid day, according to the National Weather Service.
The best chance for the storms will be between 3 and 9 p.m. when highs climb toward 90 degrees across the region, according to NWS.
Forecasters warned the storms will be capable of producing isolated tornadoes, winds up to 60 miles per hour, large hail and heavy downpours.
Areas southeast of a line extending from Howell to Sandusky face the greatest threat.
The storms will fade away sometime during the nighttime hours, leading to a comfortable Wednesday with temperatures in the upper 60s, according to NWS.
Highs will stay in the 60s on Thursday and Friday before more rain moves into the area Friday night and Saturday, according to NWS.
Temperatures will stick to the 70s for the weekend and near 80 degrees with plenty of sunshine on Memorial Day across the region, according to NWS.
