DETROIT — A new rooftop bar is opening in downtown Detroit this week.
Topa will open a spot on the 11th floor of the AC Hotel Detroit at the Bonstelle on Woodward on Thursday. The spot will offer views of Detroit's skyline.
The new bar will focus on coastal-inspired cocktails and Mediterranean-type small plates.
Drinks will include a Basque-inspired red wine and cola spritz, as well as other drinks that blend wines and spirits with fresh juices.
Chef Jorge Morales will lead the cuisine, which will feature dishes such as barramundi skewers with Persian rice, charred lamb chops and grilled chicken skewers with braised chickpea and smoked tomato.
The menu will also feature small plates like seared halloumi and bacalao croquettes.
"Topa represents the next chapter of the hospitality experience at the AC Hotel Detroit at the Bonstelle," Roxbury Group President James Van Dyke said in a press release. "Our vision was to create a space that feels transportive, a place where guests can slow down, connect and enjoy an atmosphere inspired by the California coast while still being surrounded by the energy of Detroit."
