BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A man has been arrested after trying to lure an 8-year-old girl into a wooded area Wednesday in Brighton Township, according to Michigan State Police.
The incident happened at 7 p.m. in the Rosemary Lane area in Brighton Township, according to police.
The girl was riding her bike when the man tried to lure her to the woods for "a surprise," according to police.
That's when the girl's father confronted the man, who then fled the area on a "Segway-type vehicle," according to police.
The man was posing as a door-to-door salesman with an ID badge for a pest control company, according to police.
Police did not release any other details about the incident.
Police are still investigating the incident and asked anyone with information to call police at 810-227-1051.
