Storms Possible As Hot And Humid Temps Return To Detroit Area

Forecasters do not expect any severe weather, but noted heavy downpours and large hail up to 1 inch in diameter are possible.

Hot temperatures with increasing humidity will create chances for thunderstorms Friday and into the weekend across the Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will soar into the upper 80s Thursday and Friday with elevated humidity levels, according to NWS.

Forecasters said the first round of thunderstorms will move into the area during the nighttime hours Friday. They do not expect any severe weather, but noted heavy downpours and large hail up to 1 inch in diameter are possible.

Stronger thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon when highs again climb into the upper 80s, according to NWS.

Drier air moves into the region Sunday with highs staying in the 80s, according to NWS.

The comfortable weather will stick around into early next week, according to NWS.

Saturday: Storms; High 86, Low 63

Sunday: Sunny; High 85, Low 62
