More than 250,000 DTE Energy customers in the Detroit area were without power Friday night after severe storms rolled through the area, according to the utility.
There were at least 50,000 outages scattered across Wayne County alone, according to the utility.
DTE officials warned people to stay at least 25 feet from any downed power lines. They said you should always assume any downed power line is live and dangerous.
The outages come after a round of severe storms rolled through the metro Detroit area Friday evening. The storms packed heavy downpours, large hail and winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour.
Forecasters warned more storms are possible through the day Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
