DETROIT — One person was killed and two others were injured in a Wednesday morning triple shooting on Interstate 96 in Detroit, according to Michigan State Police.
The shooting happened at 12:51 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes near Bentler Street, according to police.
Troopers said the victims were inside one car that was struck by gunfire.
One person was killed in the shooting and two others were taken to nearby hospitals where their conditions were unknown, according to police.
Troopers did not identify the victims.
There has not been an arrest in the shooting. Police did not provide any descriptions about a suspected shooter or vehicle.
Police did say that there is no known threat to the public.
The local lanes on eastbound Interstate 96 were shut down while police investigated the scene, but have since reopened.
Police did not release any other details.
