Severe Storm Chances, Heat and Humidity Return To Detroit Area

Severe storms will be possible across the Detroit area this weekend as heat and humidity return to the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday should stay dry with highs in the upper 80s before storm chances Sunday when the region will feel a spike in the heat and humidity, according to NWS.

The scattered storms will likely cross the area during the afternoon hours Sunday when highs climb close to 90 degrees with the real feel in the upper 90s, according to NWS.

Forecasters expect a stronger line of storms to cross the area sometime Monday when highs reach 90 degrees. They warned those storms will be capable of heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds.

There is another chance for showers and storms on Tuesday with slightly cooler temperatures, according to NWS.

Highs then stay in the low 80s to finish out the week, according to NWS.
