DETROIT — Joe Louis Southern Kitchen is opening its first downtown Detroit location Thursday.
The 4,000 square foot restaurant will be located at 1528 Woodward Avenue, near Bleu Detroit and within walking distance to the major sports stadiums and theaters.
The brand is best known for its Southern-style comfort food and all-day breakfast, including waffles, fluffy pancakes and French toast.
This new spot is the brand's second Detroit location after its original spot opened along Woodward Avenue in Midtown in 2021. They also have a restaurant in Southfield that opened last year.
The family-owned restaurant was founded by Joe Louis Barrow II, son of boxing legend Joe Louis.
