Today's riddle: What did the fish say when she hit a wall? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 'Not possible': Detroit family warning others after nearly mistakenly charged for using 700 gallons of water at night (clickondetroit.com) — A longtime Detroit homeowner says she was stunned when city calls warned she was supposedly using 700 gallons of water a day, even though her family's habits hadn't changed. After her meter was replaced and Local 4 contacted the city, officials confirmed she won't be billed and reminded Detroit residents they'll get automated alerts about unusual overnight water use, plus detailed usage reports if they call customer service.
2. Request for RenCen overhaul's taxpayer tab to be revealed (detroitnews.com) — Detroit residents are about to learn exactly how much public money GM and Dan Gilbert's Bedrock want for a $1.6 billion overhaul of the Renaissance Center, including up to $75 million from city taxpayers. A series of public forums and a riverfront hub will let you weigh in on demolition plans, housing options, park space, and the tax incentives backing this massive downtown transformation.
3. Michigan Lottery Daily 3, Daily 4 results for Sept. 13, 2026 (freep.com subscription) — If you played the Michigan Lottery on Sept. 13, you can now check the winning Daily 3, Daily 4, Fantasy 5, Poker Lotto, and Keno numbers and see if you've hit it big. Winners in and around Detroit can claim most prizes at the Cadillac Place regional office on West Grand Boulevard, with clear guidance on what ID and appointments are required.
4. Niyo: Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs off and running, but what about long haul? (detroitnews.com) — Detroit football fans just watched Jahmyr Gibbs carry the Lions to a nail-biting overtime win at Ford Field, piling up 182 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 29 carries. Coaches and teammates insist he's in top shape, but questions remain about whether Detroit can lean this heavily on their star running back all season, especially with a short week before facing Buffalo.
5. Detroit man sentenced to 30 years in prison following major drug interdiction operation in Scioto County (highlandcountypress.com) — A 36-year-old man from Detroit has been sentenced in Scioto County, Ohio, to 30 to 35.5 years in prison for running a fentanyl and heroin pipeline that moved drugs from Detroit through southern Ohio into Kentucky and West Virginia. Investigators say he relied on rented vehicles and paid couriers, including rideshare drivers, before a multi-year, multi-state investigation and several major traffic stops finally dismantled the operation.
