After returning to Detroit in 2023 and leaving their teaching jobs, they're adjusting to Thomas's increasing care needs, finding small daily joys, and cautiously embracing a GoFundMe to manage growing expenses.
4. Win Detroit Red Wings vs. San Jose Sharks Tickets! (audacy.com) — Detroit-area fans can enter a same-day radio contest on Oct. 16 for a chance to win two tickets to the Red Wings–Sharks game at Little Caesars Arena on Oct. 17. You'll need to live in the Detroit metro area, be at least 18, listen for the on-air cue, and have a smartphone with a ticketing app and email to redeem mobile tickets.
5. Bloom Raises $3.6 Million Seed Round to Expand AI-Powered Hardware Supply Chain Platform (citybiz.co) — Detroit-based startup Bloom has raised $3.6 million to grow its AI-powered marketplace that connects hardware companies with manufacturers, logistics firms, and service providers. Headquartered at Newlab at Michigan Central, the company plans to expand its team, enhance its BloomPay payments product, and build AI agents to streamline supplier matching and procurement for hardware makers.
