Another Spring Snowfall Headed For Metro Detroit

DETROIT, MI — Most of us woke up to a light dusting of snow on our cars and lawns, wondering when this brutal April weather would ease up. It may be soon, but not before another snowfall comes our way.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather alert for the area, cautioning that scattered snow showers are leading to slick spots on the road and reduced visibility.

A “wintry mix” is possible starting Wednesday night, with snow accumulations around one inch. Wednesday is expected to be rainy at the start, until evening when snow comes into the mix. Thursday brings more snow and winds up to 24 miles per hour. Friday is the light at the end of the tunnel with sunny skies predicted and a high near 50 degrees.

Tuesday
Scattered snow showers, mainly before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 40. West northwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.Tuesday night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. West northwest wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday
Rain likely after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday night
Rain and snow, becoming all snow after 5am. Low around 32. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday
Snow likely, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. North northwest wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday night
Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Friday
Sunny, with a high near 48.
