Beaumont’s Red Tie Ball: Picture Yourself Here

Benefitting Autism Care and the Center for Exceptional Families

Beaumont’s 13th Annual Red Tie Ball is set to take place Saturday, October 6 at the Motor City Casino in Detroit. More than 600 guests are expected to participate in the event which will raise funds to support the Center for Exceptional Families (CEF) and its autism center expansion for Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn.

In 2013, the Beaumont Children’s Center for Exceptional Families earned recognition as an Autism Center of Excellence from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Since that time, more than 300 families have benefited from the compassionate care and expertise at the center. To accommodate increasing demand for this specialized autism spectrum care, CEF has expanded to include more than 10,000 square feet of clinical treatment space adjacent to the current CEF facility in Dearborn.

In addition to the diagnostic clinic and comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment services (physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work, psychology and dietitian services) at CEF, the new Autism Evaluation Center has added comprehensive and focused, center-based applied behavioral analysis (ABA) treatment.

Event chairman, Patrick A. Rugiero, Executive Director of Roman Village Restaurant Group, is leading a committee to create an elegant evening for guests with a fun “Picture Yourself Here” theme. Guests are encouraged to dress in their finest and, of course, a red tie! There will be interesting CEF patient life pictures throughout the venue and guests will have the opportunity to take photos with different backdrops.

“I have the pleasure, once again, of working beside a group of individuals that is passionate about supporting area children who need special care and services,” Rugiero said. “Our goal is always to raise the most money we can for the children’s programs, but we are also committed to ensuring that those who give are thanked by enjoying a wonderful evening with friends and community members.”
