Hannan Center will host its “Spring into Summer: Health Is Wealth” Health Fair, a free, family-friendly event focused on helping older adults and their families embrace healthy living. 
Date: Saturday, June 6, 2026 
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Location: Hannan Center, 4750 Woodward Ave., Detroit 
Cost: Free 
The event will feature health resources, community information, interactive activities, free refreshments and a complimentary photo booth. Registered dietitian and chef Doniss Hicks will lead a live cooking demonstration highlighting nutritious, affordable meals using fresh, seasonal ingredients. 
Presented in partnership with AmeriCorps and Hannan’s My Neighborhood Connections program, the fair will connect attendees with programs and services that support healthy, independent aging.

“Ernie &amp; Emma” follows Ernie Tyler, a small-town pear salesman who sets off across Pear Valley, Oregon, after the passing of his beloved wife, Emma. Guided by the meticulous list of instructions she leaves behind, Ernie’s journey becomes a bittersweet and transformative road trip that challenges him to confront loss, rediscover purpose, and honor the life he shared with Emma.
Written, directed, and produced by Campbell, and alongside his longtime creative partner and wife, Ida Gearon. “Ernie &amp; Emma” is the first project they have produced together and filmed entirely in their home region of Southern Oregon. The choice to produce independently allowed the team to prioritize creative integrity, local talent, and real locations that reflect the world of Pear Valley.

According to Director and Co-Choreographer Timothy Higgins, “This production is special for many reasons, especially the musical score by Rodger's &amp; Hammerstein! Audiences will hear all the beloved songs that generations have come to love.” 
This 2013 Broadway adaptation by Douglas Carter Beane has all the elements of the beloved classic – but with a modern twist. The storyline blends classic and modern attributes, introduces hilarious moments, several new characters, and yet remains the heartfelt tale of a resilient, caring, smart and kind woman, Cinderella, who falls in love with her prince. The magical onstage transformations and charming story will amaze audiences of all ages. 
 
Grosse Pointe Theatre’s production of Rogers &amp; Hammerstein’s Cinderella is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers &amp; Hammerstein Organization.

Celebrating 100 Years of Musical ExcellenceThe Cass Technical High School Harp &amp; Vocal Ensemble will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a special Centennial Concert &amp; Afterglow on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 7–11 p.m. at Masonic Temple Detroit. Doors open at 6 p.m. 

The evening will bring together alumni, students, educators, supporters, and special guests to honor the ensemble’s century-long legacy and impact on Detroit’s cultural and musical landscape. Guests will enjoy performances by current students, alumni, and guest performers, followed by an afterglow reception. 

Founded in 1926, the Cass Tech Harp &amp; Vocal Ensemble is recognized as one of the nation’s longest-running and most respected public high school music programs, shaping generations of student musicians through artistic excellence, discipline, and tradition. 

Tickets are $125 per person and include valet parking, complimentary soft drinks, and passed hors d’oeuvres. Group ticket packages and full weekend event passes are also available.
