Chance Of Snow In Metro Detroit Today; Forecast

The season's first snowflakes could fall in metro Detroit this afternoon and evening.

METRO DETROIT — Metro Detroit residents could see the season's first snowflakes this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service said there's a slight chance of showers this afternoon, which could turn into wet snow showers this evening, particularly in Detroit's western suburbs.

Although any snow isn't expected to accumulate, it could create some slick spots on the roads, especially for tomorrow morning's commute as overnight temperatures will be around freezing.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in northern lower Michigan until 2:00 p.m. where up to four inches of snow is expected to accumulate.

The National Weather Service said areas expected to see the most accumulating snow include Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency, Kalkaska, Crawford and Oscoda counties.
