Chandler Park is celebrating its’ 100th birthday on Saturday, July 29, 2017, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and Chandler Park Conservancy is inviting residents and friends to join the party. The Chandler Park Centennial Celebration will be a fun-filled day full of activities for all ages including, table games, chess, checkers, tennis, pickleball, bike rodeo, bike repair, golf, football, lacrosse, soccer, a car show, educational booths, entertainment, refreshments, music and an opportunity to enjoy the water park. A visit from Mayor Duggan is expected, and he will lead the singing of happy birthday to Chandler Park.

It is anticipated that this event will draw hundreds of families, neighbors, and community member from across the region as Slow Roll will launch one of its few Saturday rides at 10:00am. Come early to get your two for one pass for entry into the Chandler Park Golf Course. The celebration will also showcase the many amenities that are currently available at Chandler Park and provide the conservancy with the opportunity to share their progress on the revitalization activities that are planned in the near future. If it has been a while since you have seen Chandler Park, I promise that you’ll be impressed.

The event will also include a special station, put on by Challenge Detroit fellows and Beaumont Health. Participants are invited to be a part of creating a community art installation, ActiveArt! Ride a bike, create a cool spin art piece, splatter some paint. It's all in the name of health and dissolving health disparities. The ActiveArt instillation will take place at the pavilion across from the football field from 10:00am-2:00pm.
