Christmas 2016 Volunteer Opportunity: Focus: HOPE Needs Drivers to Deliver Meals
Deliver special holiday food to needy seniors on Dec. 17 in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw Counties.

(Posted on Dec. 5, 2016) This is the time of year when many people look for ways to give back. If you are free on Saturday, Dec. 17, you might consider delivering meals to seniors via Focus: HOPE. The nonprofit organization is providing special holiday food boxes to an estimated 1,400 senior citizens in four counties — Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Washtenaw.
The nonprofit delivers about 41,300 meals monthly to seniors. The special holiday packages will inlcude fresh fruits and vegetables, turkey, stuffing, desserts and gifts for seniors who may have young children in their homes, Hometownlife.com reported.
“During the holidays, we want to make sure that our seniors are able to enjoy a special meal in their own home,” Focus: HOPE CEO Jason D. Lee said. “Although the monthly food boxes they receive contain plenty of nutritious items, this annual holiday box provides them with a holiday meal that allows them to celebrate with their loved ones in their own home.”
