Coldest Air Of Winter Season So Far Expected Friday Morning: Metro Detroit Weather

The coldest air of the winter season so far is expected Friday morning across the metro Detroit area, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight lows will fall below zero with wind chills dropping to as low as 20 degrees below zero Friday morning across the area, the weather service said.

Highs Friday will only reach the teens with wind chills consistently below zero throughout the day. There will also be chances for light snow showers and flurries. Forecasters only expect minor accumulations.

Lows will again fall below zero Friday night with very cold wind chills Saturday morning, the weather service said.

Highs will rebound back into the 20s on Sunday, followed by another chance for snow on Monday, the weather service said.
