Cooler Temps, More Thunderstorms: Metro Detroit Weather

Chances for more severe thunderstorms this week.

Highs will struggle to hit 50 degrees Wednesday before more thunderstorms move into the Detroit area this week, according to the National Weather Service.

The storms will roll into the region Thursday evening along a warm front that will push temperatures back into the 60s, the weather service said.

Forecasters warned the storms could produce heavy downpours, large hail, winds up to 60 miles per hour and possible tornadoes.

The greatest chance for severe weather will be west of Interstate 75, the weather service said.

Highs then climb back into the 70s on Friday. Rain will move into the area during the nighttime hours and bleed over into Saturday, which will also see highs in the 70s, the weather service said.

Temperatures then plummet again on Easter Sunday with below-average highs in the 40s, the weather service said.
