Dangerous Heat Wave Will Push Temps Into 90s This Week: MI Weather
Highs will reach the mid 90s with the real feel closer to 100 degrees throughout the week across southeastern Michigan, forecasters said.
SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — An intense heat wave will push temperatures above 90 degrees with triple-digit heat indices this week across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of southeastern Michigan is under an excessive heat watch from noon Monday through 8 p.m. Friday, while Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties were upgraded to an excessive heat warning.
Highs will reach the mid 90s with the real feel closer to 100 degrees throughout the week across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.

There will be little overnight relief, as low temperatures will only fall into the mid 70s throughout the week across southeastern Michigan, according to the weather service.
Forecasters also warned thunderstorms could pop up each day as the heat and humidity builds in the afternoon hours, according to the weather service.

"This level of rare and/or long-duration extreme heat with little to no overnight relief affects anyone without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration," the weather service wrote.
Officials reiterated that it's important to reduce outdoor activity, drink plenty of water and wear lightweight, light colored clothing to stay cool. Here is a list of cooling centers in the Detroit area.
Officials also said it's important to take cool showers or baths, check on elderly, disabled or ill friends and relatives regularly, do not leave children or pets in parked cars and look out for neighbors.
