Detroit To Add More Than 300 Speed Humps In Neighborhoods In 2026
The locations were based on requests from city residents.
DETROIT — Detroit will add 312 speed humps on neighborhood streets in 2026, according to city officials.
The locations were based on requests from city residents. Those who don’t want speed humps on their streets have until April 24th to opt-out of this year’s program, city officials said.
"Speed humps have been one tool that we have utilized to effectively address the problem of speeding and reckless driving and the installation of 312 more will further reduce the problem and provide safer streets on these residential blocks," Detroit Department of Public Works director Ron Brundidge said. "This program came about because we listened to the concerns of our residents and developed a solution the community has wholeheartedly embraced."
