Detroit HS Basketball Player Goes Into Cardiac Arrest During Game: DPS

DETROIT — A Detroit high school basketball player went into cardiac arrest during a game Tuesday afternoon, according to the school district.

Cartier Woods, a senior at Northwestern High School, suffered a cardiac episode during a basketball game against Douglass High School in Detroit, according to the district.

Woods was given CPR and rushed to Henry Ford Hospital, according to the district.

School officials said Woods placed on life support Tuesday night and that the "next 24 hours are critical for his survival."

School officials did not provide any further details.
