Detroit Lions Fans May 'Heckle,' But They're Not The Rudest: Survey

DETROIT — While Detroit Lions fans may "heckle too much," they aren't the rudest NFL fans, according to a sports betting website.

NJ Bet ranked all 32 NFL teams by rudest fanbases, placing the Lions near the middle at N0. 15. The reason? Because they "heckle too much," the website said.

Other teams ranked in the list found their fans "start fights," "mock opposing team/fans,"get too drunk," "make game about themselves," and "use profanity," the website said.

Here are the top ten and bottom five rudest fanbases, according to NJ Bet:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles (start fights)
  2. Las Vegas Raiders (start fights)
  3. Dallas Cowboys (heckle too much)
  4. New England Patriots (mock opposing team/fans)
  5. Pittsburgh Steelers (mock opposing team/fans)
  6. Green Bay Packers (get too drunk)
  7. Chicago Bears (heckle too much)
  8. New York Giants (heckle too much)
  9. Buffalo Bills (get too drunk)
  10. New York Jets (heckle too much)

In addition, the survey also found what fans say are the rudest NFL fan behaviors:

  1. Standing up/blocking view
  2. Getting drunk
  3. Cutting in line
  4. Heckling
  5. Blocking aisle
  6. Not attending to child/children
  7. Using profanity
  8. Stealing seats or “squatting”
  9. Always leaving seat
  10. Talking on phone

The survey also found the most "thin-skinned quarterbacks" in the league are Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Kyler Murray. The most "thin-skinned coaches" in the league are Bill Belichick, Mike McCarthy and John Harbaugh, according to the website.

The findings were based on a November survey from over 1,000 NFL fans across the country, the website said.
