Detroit Lions Release Player After Police Issue Arrest Warrant

Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton is wanted in connection with a Florida domestic violence incident​, officials said.

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions released cornerback Cameron Sutton a day after officials said he was wanted in connection with a Florida domestic violence incident.

Sutton, 29, assaulted a woman on March 7 in Lutz, Florida, and is wanted in connection with the incident for "domestic battery by strangulation," according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Police were still looking for Sutton as of Friday morning.

Police believe he may be driving a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with a plate number of FL-AZ33QB and asked anyone who knows his whereabouts to call police at 813-247-8200.
