DETROIT — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel warned Lions fans to watch out for scammers as the team prepares for its first ever home playoff game at Ford Field Sunday night.
Ticket prices for the game have soared since the NFL announced the game will be televised on NBC's Sunday Night football. The average ticket price on TickPick was more than $800, making the tickets the most expensive ever for a Wild-Card game. The cheapest ticket on SeatGeek is $448 without fees.

"Online ticket sales come with a certain amount of risk. It’s easy for scammers to create a phony screenshot of a ticket that doesn't exist or has previously been sold — possibly more than once," Nessel said. "If you’re buying tickets to this weekend’s playoff game at Ford Field, make sure the tickets you pay for are authentic and they will actually get you into the game. Only then will you be able to keep your enthusiasm and your finances secure as you defend the den. Let’s go, Lions!"

Here are some tips Nessel suggested to avoid scams:
- Know your vendor - Buy from a reputable website to avoid phony websites.
- Do your research - Check the ticket seller and call the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Team at 877-765-8388 if you suspect something phony.
- Use credit - Using a credit card offers better protection than using cash.
- Shop securely - Check the website, make sure it begins with "https," the "s" indicates that the website is "secure."
Stafford, who holds all the Lions' major passing records, led the Lions to three playoff trips, all resulting in a loss.
The last Lions home playoff game was in January 1994 when they lost 28-24 to the Green Bay Packers at the Pontiac Silverdome. The Lions' last playoff victory came in the 1991 season when they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 38-6 in the Silverdome.
