Detroit Man Arrested For Carjackings, Thefts: Police

Delano Drake, 20,​ was charged with 25 felonies, including carjacking, Prosecutor Kym Worthy​'s office said Friday.

DETROIT — A Detroit man was arrested for connection to a series of carjackings and thefts in Detroit, Prosecutor Kym Worthy's office said Friday.

Delano Drake, 20, was charged with 25 felonies, including carjacking, unlawfully driving away an automobile, receiving and concealing stolen property and firearms, the prosecutor's office said.

Drake was arraigned Friday in the 36th District Court and given $2,500,000 cash/surety bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for Nov. 23 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for Nov. 30, in 36th District Court before Judge Roberta Archer, the prosecutor's office said.

"The evidence in this case will show that the alleged actions of this defendant were brazen, and extremely dangerous," Worthy said. "These victims just wanted to go about their daily lives and were met by this defendant who allegedly wanted what they had – no matter the consequences."

Officials believe Drake committed a series of carjackings, unlawfully driving away of various cars and receiving and stealing Dodge Rams, Dodge Challengers, Jeep Cherokees and Chrysler 200s and 300s between Sept. 23 and Nov. 4 in Detroit, police said.
