Detroit Man Faces Murder Charges In Double Colorado Springs Shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — A Detroit man was arrested in connection with a double fatal-shooting at a college dormitory in Colorado last week, according to police.
Nicholas Jordan, 25, of Detroit, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder. He was placed in jail, bond information was not released.
Officers found a man and woman shot to death at roughly 6 p.m. Friday inside a home at the Crestone House dormitory at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, according to police.

Investigators identified the victims as Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, of Pueblo, Colo., and Samuel Knopp, 24, of Parker, Colo. Knopp was a senior studying music and a member of the Visual and Performing Arts department, according to school officials.
Montgomery was not a student at the school, according to school officials.

Officers with the department's vehicle theft unit found Jordan on Monday in a car in the 4900 block of Cliff Point Circle East in Colorado Springs and arrested him in connection with the shooting, according to police.
Jordan was enrolled at the school as a student at the time of the shooting, according to school officials.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident. They also believe the shooter knew the victims, and that the shooting was not a random attack against the school or other students at the university.
