Detroit Man Wins $2M On Scratch-Off Ticket

A Detroit man won $2 million on a scratch-off ticket just after he told his wife winning the jackpot would be life-changing​.

The lucky 53-year-old player bought the winning $20 Jackpot Millions scratch-off ticket at the Fast Track Gas Station at 30953 Mound Road in Warren, lottery officials said.

DETROIT — A Detroit man won $2 million on a scratch-off ticket just after he told his wife winning the jackpot would be life-changing, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

The lucky 53-year-old player bought the winning $20 Jackpot Millions scratch-off ticket at the Fast Track Gas Station at 30953 Mound Road in Warren, lottery officials said.

"It was Christmas Eve and me and my wife decided to go out and purchase some tickets," the luck player said. "When we got in the car after buying our tickets, I looked at the Jackpot Millions ticket and said to her: ‘Winning $2 million would be life-changing!’"

The lucky player scratched his wining ticket when the two got back home, lottery officials said. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.3 million rather than 30 annuity payments for the full amount. With his winnings, he plans to pay bills

"I was in shock! Winning this prize truly is life-changing," the lucky player said.
