Good morning, neighbors! I'm back with your fresh edition of the Detroit Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening locally.

  1. Detroit city leaders and state lawmakers urged Detroit officials to challenge the officials 2020 census count. Not only does the census determine congressional maps, but also depicts the number of resources and funding certain areas get. (Detroit News)
  2. New Detroit musical showcases removal of historic Black Bottom neighborhood. The play, Hastings Street, follows the Carsons in the 50s and 60s and features an original score of jazz and blues. (FOX 2 Detroit)
  3. Numerous incoming University of Michigan medical students walked out of their induction ceremony Sunday when an anti-abortion doctor took the stage as the keynote speaker. (Michigan Patch)
