Detroit Non-Profit Hosting Women's Health Summit: What To Know

DETROIT — BasBlue and the Henry Ford Health System will host a summit focused on women's health next week in Detroit.

The event will take place at the BasBlue women's health club, located at 110 E. Ferry Street in Detroit, on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $80 and include access to the health summit and the community resource fair. Guests will also receive a curated swag bag, lunch and a host of intimate, expert-led workshops.

The summit will provide women with an intimate setting to speak directly with health experts.

Staff with the Detroit-based group said they will have the chance to ask questions they don't always get time to ask and learn how to prioritize their own care alongside everyone else's.

The non-profit said the goal of the summit is to create space for women to be seen and heard, as well as remove the barriers that stand between them and the care they need.

"From burnout and stress to hormonal health, reproductive care, aging and access to trusted information, women are navigating growing demands across every part of their lives — while their own health quietly moves to the bottom of the list," BasBlue CEO Ellen Gilchrist said. "It's held back further by a lack of resources, a lack of research specific to women's bodies and, for many, a lack of access altogether. BasBlue built Bold Women's Health Day to close that gap."
