Detroit Officer, 2 Suspected Shooters Injured In Gunfire: Police
The officer and the two suspected shooters were taken to nearby hospital, where they are all expected to survive, police said.
DETROIT — An officer and two suspected shooters were injured in a Thursday night shootout inside a Detroit home, according to Detroit Police Chief James White.
Officers went to a home in the 12900 block of Burt Road near West Davison and Interstate 96 to investigate after they got an alert from the department's ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology, White said.
When officers arrived at the home, they heard shots coming from inside and called for backup, White said.

Officers then entered the home and went up to the second level where they were fired upon, White said.
One of the officers was struck by two rounds and a second officer returned fire as he dragged his partner out of harm's way, White said.

Officers found two people shot and wounded inside the home, though it's not clear if they were shot by an officer or someone else in the apartment, White said.
The officer and the two suspected shooters were taken to a nearby hospital, where they are all expected to survive, White said.
Officers also confiscated three weapons from inside the house, White said.
"It appears that they were clearly distrusting either a robbery-murder or a murder because of the amount of firearms that we recovered and the fact that they were actively shooting at the officers," White said.
Police were still investigating the shooting, but White said he believes all the suspected shooters were arrested in connection to the shooting.
Police may also have some interest in a vehicle that may have fled the scene shortly after the shooting.
