Detroit Pistons Player Arrested In Fight With Opposing Player: Police

A Detroit Pistons player was charged with assault after a fight with an opposing player in Phoenix, Arizona, according to police.

PHOENIX — A Detroit Pistons player was arrested in connection to a fight with an opposing player Thursday night in Phoenix, Arizona, according to Phoenix Police.

Officers broke up a fight between Detroit Pistons star Isaiah Stewart and Phoenix Suns player Drew Eubanks at 4:45 p.m. Pacific Time, Thursday in the parking lot area of Footprint Center in Phoenix, according to police.

Officers spoke to Stewart and Eubanks, as well as multiple witnesses, according to police.

"They learned there was an argument between both players as they arrived at the arena. Witnesses said the argument escalated when they saw Stewart punch Eubanks, causing a minor injury," police said in a statement.

Stewart, 22, was charged with assault, issued a citation and released, according to police.

Police were still investigating the incident.

The Suns went on to defeat the Pistons 116-100 Thursday night. Eubanks played in the game, scoring 6 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in 18 minutes.

Stewart, meanwhile, hasn't played since the end of January due to an ankle injury, but was hoping to return sometime after the All-Star break.

The Pistons have the worst record in the NBA at 8-46.
