Detroit Police Looking For Man Who Took And Assaulted Young Girl

Police said the young girl was kidnapped in the area of Eight Mile and Grand River in Detroit.

DETROIT — Detroit Police is searching for a man wanted in connection to the abduction of a 9-year-old girl.

The young girl was found by a neighbor near Trojan Street and Berg Road in Detroit wearing nothing but a blanket.

The neighbor called Detroit Police, who said the young girl was kidnapped in the area of Eight Mile and Grand River, after she left her Farmington Hills home and walked for over two hours.

The young girl told police she didn't know where she was and the suspect asked her if she needed help. So she got into the light colored Jeep Renegade and quickly realized he was driving the wrong way. But she wasn't able to get out of the car, police said.

The man drove her to an unknown home and assaulted her. Once the suspect left the room, the girl was able to escape. The girl was taken to Children's Hospital.

Detroit Police is searching for the male suspect who was driving a white or gray, 2015-2021 Jeep Renegade.
