Detroit Schools Aim To Test 40,000 Students And Staff Weekly
The ambitious testing plan goes with the district's mask mandate in an effort to keep students in classrooms throughout the school year.
DETROIT — The Detroit Public School system is rolling out a COVID-19 testing plan that will test 40,000 students and faculty a week in an effort to keep in-person learning going throughout the school year, according to a MSNBC report.
The tests will be free and available at all District schools for the 2021-22 school year, the districts website said.
Although it will still take parental consent to test the school children, parents are not fighting the mask mandate the district put in place for all students and staff, regardless of vaccination status, the report says.
