Detroit Synagogue President Found Dead Outside Home
Samantha Woll, 40, led the Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue. She was found dead outside her Lafayette Park home, reports said.

DETROIT, MI — Detroit synagogue president Samantha Woll was found stabbed to death Saturday morning outside her home in the city's Lafayette Park neighborhood, according to the synagogue and multiple reports. She was 40.
Police first confirmed to the Detroit Free Press that a body was found around 6:30 a.m. outside a home in the 1300 block of Joliet Place.
In a statement to CNN, police said responded to the area after receiving a report of a person lying on the ground unresponsive. When they arrived, they found a “trail of blood” leading them to Woll’s home, CNN reported.

Police found multiple stab wounds on Woll's body, police told CNN.
The Isaac Agree Downtown Detroit Synagogue, where Woll served as president, confirmed her death on Facebook.

"We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President," the synagogue wrote. "At this point we do not have more information, but will share more when it becomes available. May her memory be a blessing."
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, whose campaign worked with Woll, said she was "brutally murdered" in a statement posted on social media.
"Sam was as kind a person as I’ve ever known," Nessel said. "She was driven by her sincere love of her community, state and country. Sam truly used her faith and activism to create a better place for everyone."
Woll also worked with Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, according to a post on Slotkin’s social media.
"My heart aches that we have lost someone so dedicated to serving others in such a senseless act," Slotkin said. "I’ll miss her relentless desire to serve & her bright smile seemingly everywhere across the Detroit area."
