Detroit Tigers 2023: New Home Start Time, Celebrations, Giveaways

The Detroit Tigers includes new start time for weeknight home games​, celebrations and giveaways.

DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers released information about their 2023 upcoming season, which include a new start time for weeknight home games, celebrations and giveaways.

Tigers home games during the work week will now start at 6:40 p.m., up from 7:10 p.m. Based on feedback from fans and TV and business partners.

"We’re constantly listening to feedback from fans and stakeholders and our staff has been hard at work this off-season enhancing the fan experience and addressing topics we hear about," said Chris McGowan, president and CEO of Ilitch Sports and Entertainment.

Tigers single-game tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Under Major League Baseball's new scheduling format, the Tigers will play more crossover games against National League teams.

Two appealing home matchups are against the San Francisco Giants (April 14-16) and the New York Mets (May 2-4), who now have two former Tigers aces, Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer in their starting rotation.

There will be several Miguel Cabrera giveaways, as the Tigers’ longtime slugger embarks on the final season of his Hall-of-Fame career. The giveaways include two T-shirt nights (April 29 and Sept. 30) and a bobblehead (June 10).

Friday night fireworks will return to Comerica Park, and the brand-new Party in the Park Friday swill also include live music, entertainment and the fireworks.

Sunday Kids Day returns and kids can get autographs on the concourse, run the bases after the games and get free rides on the Ferris Wheel and carousel.
