Detroit TV News Anchor Caught On Video In Profanity-Laced Outburst
The news station said she was fired for "unprofessional workplace behavior" and "outbursts," according to a report.
Former Fox 2 Detroit news anchor Taryn Asher was caught on a video calling her colleague a "bitch" during a heated newsroom confrontation.
In the video, first surfaced to FTVLive and Deadline Detroit, Asher is seen speaking to someone off-camera, presumably her boss, during a PSA recording.
She appears to be discussing scripts and speaks over the person off-camera about why she made changes to the script.

"See, I mean, I can’t wait for you to go through them all, and then I go through them, because then I’m already getting ready by then," Asher said.
The exchange intensifies, prompting the off-screen individual to walk away.

"I don’t think you are. You’re walking out really angry," she says, then adds, "Bitch."
Moments later, Asher says, "Can I please finish what I’m going to say?" adding, "What the f–k? Grow up."
She went on to tell a crew member that she is "so done with her antics, telling on me every five seconds. I’m done."
The video surfaces as Asher filed a sex discrimination lawsuit against the news station after she was fired last November.
Asher argued she began getting treated worse around the time new station manager Paul McGonagle started in the role in July 2025. She argued her co-anchor Roop Raj was getting the majority of guest interviews with a better schedule.
"Around the time of Mr. McGonagle’s hiring," the suit says. "Asher noticed an alarming pattern of female employees in leadership positions being terminated and replaced by men and, further, noticed that Fox treated Asher’s male counterpart and co-anchor, Roop Raj, more favorably than her by, among other things, providing Mr. Raj with more guest interview segment opportunities on the evening news than Asher."
Asher is seeking money for lost wages, mental and emotional distress and loss of professional reputation, and punitive damages such as costs and attorneys' fees.
FOX and its Detroit affiliate WJBK responded to the lawsuit last week and said Asher was rightfully terminated for "unprofessional workplace behavior" and "outbursts," the Detroit News reports.
The news station said Asher frequently missed editorial meetings, such as interview assignments, and has shouted at employees about the order of interviews during a newscast. The station also said she used profanity with employees and confronted an employee she believed had complained to management about her, according to the report.
Asher's lawsuit denies she engaged in "outbursts" and other "unprofessional conduct warranting disciplinary action or termination"
Her lawyers told the New York Post they strongly disagree with how Fox 2 Detroit described her workplace behavior.
"Ms. Asher is an award-winning journalist who served Fox 2 Detroit since 2007," Asher’s lawyers told the Post. "Fox’s own filing admits that shortly prior to her firing she repeatedly raised internal concerns that she believed Fox treated male employees, including her male co-anchor, more favorably, including with respect to schedule flexibility and guest-interview opportunities."
They added the profanity-laced video involved an old issue that was addressed at the time and did not result in Asher’s termination.
