Detroit Woman Hits MI Fantasy 5 Jackpot, Wins More Than $480K

DETROIT — A Detroit woman won more than $480,000 playing the Michigan Lottery's Fantasy 5 jackpot.

The lucky 45-year-old player matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the March 12 drawing to win the big prize of $482,417 from the Michigan Lottery. She bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.

The player said she had been using special dates for a long time to make up the winning numbers, which were 02-10-11-17-21.

"When I logged in to my account and saw I’d won the jackpot, I called my mom in a panic," she said. "She thought something was wrong until I told her I’d won the Lottery. We were both in shock and couldn’t believe it!"

The winner said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and then save the rest.

"Winning is an awesome feeling. It’s a huge relief and couldn’t have happened at a better time," she said.
