Detroit, You Sexy Thing: America’s Sexiest Cities

The Motor City has found redemption after snobby Playboy snubbed the city and called it the unsexiest city in America.

DETROIT, MI — Last year, Playboy magazine called Detroit America’s least sexiest city. It fared slightly better, if second to last counts as better, in a ranking by the travel dating website, MissTravel.com. Now, the Motor City has been redeemed, according to a direct seller of “relationship-enhancement” products that named Detroit the second-sexiest place in all of America.

Kiss that, Playboy and MissTravel.

Detroit booted Washington, DC, from the No. 2 spot on the Pure Romance list, which is based on national sales of the company's products. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, came in as the sexiest city in the country. We assume Philadelphians aren't actually sexier, just have more disposable income.

The Motor City’s appearance near the top of the sexy cities list is a bit of redemption after Playboy’s cold indictment of Detroit in 2015:

“Not to kick Motown when it’s down, but our survey voted Detroit the unsexiest city in America. It has all the attributes respondents rate as their biggest turnoffs: crime, grime, lousy weather and supersize locals (it’s the fourth-fattest city in the country, according to a 2014 Men’s Fitness survey).”

MissTravel.com was more kind, saying there were far more glamous travel destinations for lvoers than Detroit.
